The City of Trinidad's Neighborhood Watch Program is off the ground and activated.
We have had a tremendous response from the community and our great local citizens who have requested to be a part of this
effort to combat crime within their respective neighborhoods.
The first Neighborhood Watch meeting was held at the end of September, 2008 at the local Propsect Plaza Apartments and
the request for new groups to have an introductory gathering is overwhelming.
Since that time, several other gatherings within different areas of the City have been instituted and we are having meetings
every week.
Chief Glorioso, as well as our City Government and Council, is very supportive of this endeavor and are constantly providing the necessary funding for new materials, handouts, refreshments, signs, etc.
I believe this will be an excellent opportunity for this City, as the citizens are not only assisting their local law enforcement members, but they can establish better friendships with their neighbors.
We are encouraging our local citizens to become involved in this program, and we are looking for any interested citizens that would like to start a neighborhood watch to contact Detective Sergeant Arsenio L. (Archie) Vigil for information on how to get started.
The Trinidad Police Department will provide the necessary materials and information for your specific watch area. Block Captains will also need to be appointed. For more information, contact Detective Sergeant Arsenio (Archie) Vigil at the Trinidad Police Department at (719) 846-4441 Ext 140.
The Trinidad Police Department is offering a $1,000.00 reward for information that will lead to the arrest and conviction of person(s) involved, regarding the rash of recent damage to vehicle windows (glass), to include residential and business glass.
To report a crime anonymously, call (719) 845-TIPS (8477)
